Autumn Wedding Trends
It’s June. How did that happen?!
We’re (only slightly) panicking about how quickly this year is zooming by. With new seasons, however, also comes beautiful new styles, dreamy landscapes, delicious golden light, and a tonne of inspiration that works any time of the year. We’re looking to autumn for inspiration for the cooler weather!
BOLD
Mmmmm! Nothing more delicious than a golden, rich colour palette - and, much like the changing leaves, an orange/gold/red colour palette is distinctly autumnal. Bring it through in the florals, the dresses and the decor.
LAYERS
Yes, it’s all about the dress, but the change in seasons means some practical thinking is in order. Never fear though - there are some stunning options for adding extra warmth to your wedding day look. Another option here is to go for a dress with longer sleeves - you’re less likely to overheat in the crisp autumn air, so why not rock a classic long sleeved cut?
KEEPING IT COSY
Over the last few years, we’ve seen a real move towards smaller, intimate weddings - and how perfect is this for the cooler seasons? We’re picturing cosy indoor reception, fire crackling in the corner, warming and rich cocktails in hand. Lighting plays a massive part here too - nothing says intimate like dreamy, ambient light and the twinkling of fairy lights. You can still have an intimate wedding with a lot of guests too - it’s all in the experience!
A NEW LEVEL OF LUSH
Combining florals and lush greenery creates a new level of cosiness - especially when opting for blooms and botanicals that are in season (which also brings down the cost and can reduce your environmental impact). Bring on that dreamy colour palette!
PATTERNS FOR THE BOYS
Autumn brings with it a whole set of new textures and tones for inspiration - and trending this season is patterns for the boys! Not only does this bring a pop of colour to the theme, and add an element of surprise - it’s also just really fun. The guys get to dress in something a wee bit different - whether it’s a couple of little elements like a special bowtie, or a full patterned suit, they get to be creative.
