In love with: Dark and Edgy

Step aside, soft pastels (well, actually, don’t. We still love a traditional, dreamy colour palette), because deep, rich colours are back, and they’re feeling more luxurious and edgy than ever. We are absolutely in love with the dark, inky, magical goodness we’re seeing across the board, from stationery, to table settings, and even photo locations - and we’re about to convince you to feel the same with some deliciously moody inspiration for your wedding planning.

INVITES AND STATIONERY

Oh, yes, yes, yes. how perfectly moody in the gold on black? These invites have a beautiful art deco meets modernism feel to them. We love the integration of botanicals into the design too - this works gorgeously with florals and greenery, and can be a great way to tie the colours and style into your wedding decor. Think about the other stationery too - table names, place cards, menus.

TABLE SETTINGS

Okay, maybe we scared you off by talking about all the darkness - but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. It can be a matter of incorporating high contrast elements (what could be more elegant than black and white?) and the odd pop of gold or glam. Check out these settings below, which use a nice balance of tones, and create a truly slick, minimal vibe.

THE OUTFIT

Bring a little edge to your outfit by adding pops of black - it’ll sit perfectly alongside a white dress! This look is not only perfect for urban shoots as well as outdoors - the leather jacket will also keep you warm and cosy all night long, without sacrificing style.
