Beautiful outdoor wedding at Brackenridge
A beautiful outdoor ceremony for inspiration today. Images by the talented Jaymee Photography.
Gemma and Sam are married at the stunning Brackenridge wedding venue in the Wairarapa, with rural fields of grass and a nice relaxed vibe.
How and where did you meet - when did you fall for each other?
We met at Rhythm n Vines back in 2013. We were camping next to each other and got to talking. Next thing you know we are doing long distance for a year before I moved to Wellington and the rest is history.
Who proposed, where and how?
Sam proposed. We were at our favourite local beach - Whitireia. Kind of a funny story - Sam placed the ring in his hood so I couldn't see it in his pocket. It fell out in front of me when he bent over to pick up a ball for our dog, so we both pretended nothing happened. 10 minutes later Sam popped a knee on the beach.
What was Favourite part of the day, what will you always remember from the day?
Our favourite part of the day was our first look in an olive grove. We were both a bundle of nerves and it was so exciting to see each other all dolled up! We both wanted to do a first look so the intense emotions were out of the way before the ceremony.
Did you have any special features at your wedding?
We were always going to aim for a relaxed vibe that was about celebrating not only us but the important people in our lives. Gemma is from a small country town so had envisioned rural/ fields of grass and wanted a rustic vibe with dried flowers, greenery and browns/ rusty colours.
