People ask all the time what makes our wedding venue so different from the rest. The answer is: Lansdowne House is a beautiful historic home which can’t be replicated. “I feel like I’m in Downton Abbey” said one bride! Enjoy the magical Edwardian splendour, the unique ambience, the beautiful gardens, the sumptuous honeymoon suite & the chance to become lady of the Manor on your wedding day.
We are a venue for all seasons with twinkling chandeliers, wood panelling, roaring open fires in winter & spacious, cool verandahs & majestic shady trees in summer. Photo opportunities in any season, both inside and outside are magical.
Our food is all prepared on the premises and is one of our major attractions...everything from our dainty homemade canapés to our succulent roast meats, vegetables galore as well as specialised vegetarian & gluten free dishes, homemade chutneys & sauces as well as our Gravlaxed salmon. To follow, our famous desserts – our homemade ice cream selection, our 40 egg raspberry Pavlova towers, our raspberry coulis, salted caramel, lemon curd & chocolate Ganache sauces, not to mention our rich & decadent chocolate or icky sticky caramel self saucing puddings as well as our fruit crumbles & vanilla custard. The list is endless & every wedding menu is designed especially for your wedding, a ‘one off’ bespoke menu just for you.
We are all set up with everything you think you need & more you haven’t even thought of included in the venue hire. As a result, people are often surprised at how little their wedding has actually cost them especially when everything is included & they don’t have to waste precious time and money on hiring tables, chairs, linen, cutlery, glasses, plates, servers, napkins, flowers, candles etc.
Helping you to design your special day is all part of our complimentary service. Our philosophy is simple...be creative, pay attention to detail, listen to what people want, be innovative & always give value added. Good communication is everything. Whether you are local or live overseas, whether you have lots of time, or no time at all, we are here to make it work for you. What’s more, our team are very special; many of them have been with us for a very long time. They all love being here and they care about giving you the best possible service.
